People who follow these 5 Cs in their life never face defeat in their life. This was stated by Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, Minister of Transport, Government of Punjab . He was speaking during the FAP National Awards 2021 which is first-of-its kind ceremony to honor the teachers of private schools of India. The award ceremony was hosted at the campus of Chandigarh University Gharuan which was presided by Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, Honorable Minister of Transport, Government of Punjab. The other dignitaries present on the occasion included, Dr. Satinder Singh Sartaj, Eminent Indian Singer, Actor & Poet, Satnam Singh Sandhu, Dr. Kulwant Singh Dhaliwal, Global Ambassador of World Cancer Care, Prof. Sunita Dhir, Punjabi Actor, Chancellor, Chandigarh University, Dr. Jagjit Singh Dhuri, President FAP. FAP President, Dr. Jagjit Singh, President, Federation of Private Schools and Associations of Punjab announced the winners of FAP National Awards 2021. For their contribution in their respective fields, Dr. Satinder Singh Sartaj, Dr. Kulwant Singh Dhaliwal, Prof. Sunita Dhir were conferred with Guest of Honor Award during FAP National Award 2021. During the first day of the award ceremony, the Federation honored 415 teachers of private schools of Punjab.
Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, Minister of Transport, Government of Punjab during his inaugural speech said that his aim is to make the loss-making government owned transport companies profitable in 2 months and the government has decided to add 800 new buses in its fleet. Speaking further the minister said, “The issue of providing free bus passes to the students of private schools in Punjab would be discussed in the cabinet meeting to be held on Monday. Apart from this, road tax waiver for private school buses would also be discussed”.
While paying tribute to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi Ji, and Lal Bahadur Shastri on their birth anniversary, Amrinder Singh Raja Warring said, “Mahatma Gandhi had also said that education was not limited to bookish knowledge but aimed at holistic development of the students”. After parents, teachers play a crucial role in transforming the life of a student, apart from teaching, teachers always guide and motivate in accomplishing students' most significant achievements, added Amrinder Singh Raja Warring.
Dr. Jagjit Singh Dhuri, President FAP said, “FAP National Awards 2021 is first of its kind awards to recognize the unique contribution of teachers in the country and to honor those teachers who through their commitment have not only improved the quality of school education but also enriched the lives of their students”. Speaking further Dr. Jagjit Singh Dhuri said, “Private schools of Punjab play a vital role in raising the standard of education in Punjab, Although private schools in Punjab account for 31 percent of the total schools in Punjab, the private schools cater to 54 percent of the total enrolment of the students up to higher secondary in the state”. More than 5 lakhs teachers employed at school level are in the private sector schools and also the private schools are the biggest employment providers for the females in Punjab, added Dr. Jagjit Singh Dhuri.
Speaking further Dr. Jagjit Singh Dhuri said, “The reason for the achievement of the students in every field of life is only because of the strong foundation laid by the competent teachers during the students' school days”. During the first day of the two-day award ceremony being organized by the Federation, 410 teachers were awarded while the remaining teachers of other 15 states will be honored on October 3 by the Honorable Chief Minister of Punjab, Charanjit Singh Channi Ji, added Dr. Dhuri.
Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chancellor, Chandigarh University while speaking during the award ceremony said, “It is the responsibility of all of us that every section of the society and every institution should unite and promote joint efforts in every field, so that a prosperous and glorious Punjab can be built. Private schools have made an exemplary contribution for the upliftment of the society and the investors investing in private sector education have played a major role in raising the standard of education in Punjab”. The role and commitment of government and private schools towards the society are common and the FAP Awards will play a vital role in creating a quality educational environment by increasing competition among private schools not only in Punjab but at the national level, added Satnam Singh Sandhu.
